Promessa a Jafar Panahi mantenuta: donazione alla Croce Rossa Italiana
Sabato 19 dicembre, presso la sede forlivese della Croce Rossa Italiana, il Direttore Organizzativo di Sedicicorto Forlì International Film Festival ha consegnato una donazione in denaro per supportare l’ente nella sua azione di lotta al Corona Virus.
Si tratta di una promessa che gli organizzatori del Festival avevano fatto al grande regista iraniano Jafar Panahi, il quale aveva chiesto che il compenso in denaro previsto per il suo Premio alla Carriera CinemaItaliano – consegnato in occasione del 17° Sedicicorto Forlì International Film Festival e nell’ambito della terza edizione di IranFest – venisse interamente devoluto ad un ente benefico coinvolto nella gestione sanitaria della pandemia di Covid-19.
Un grande ed importante gesto, da parte di un regista che, non solo con il suo cinema, dimostra ancora una volta la sua vicinanza ai più deboli e bisognosi.
Jafar Panahi’s Lifetime Achievement Award donated to the Italian Red Cross
On Saturday 19th December, at the Forlì headquarters of the Italian Red Cross, the Managing Director of the Sedicicorto Forlì International Film Festival delivered a cash donation to the institution, in order to support it in the fight against Coronavirus.
It was a promise that the promoters of the Festival made to the great Iranian director Jafar Panahi.
He had asked that the prize money of his CinemaItaliano Lifetime Achievement Award be entirely donated to a charitable institution engaged in the health response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Panahi was awarded the prize in occasion of the 17th edition of the Sedicicorto Forlì International Film Festival, within the framework of the 3rd IranFest edition.
Panahi’s gesture was grand and significant: once again, and not only through his movies, the director has shown his solidarity with the people who are most vulnerable and in need.
